We have vacancies for Environmental Enforcement Officers, with the relevant skills or experience, to join our enforcement team in taking action to address anti-social behaviour and enviro-crimes including but not limited to littering, breaches of public spaces protection orders, dog fouling, stray dogs, graffiti, fly tipping, fly posting and abandoned vehicles.
You will be required to undertake proactive and reactive patrols across the streets and open spaces within the Borough engaging with members of the public to provide advice, assistance and education and where necessary, issue Fixed Penalty Notices and gather supporting evidence where environmental crimes are being committed.
Previous experience of working in an enforcement role, as well as the ability to drive, are requirements for this position, however consideration will also be given to applicants who can demonstrate they have transferable skills.
You will be dealing with members of the public face to face ensuing you remain professional and polite in offering support and advice, sometimes under challenging circumstances, working outside in all weathers.
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to provide education, guidance and enforce where required. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an enforcement role, be able to work within a team, make decisions and demonstrate effective communication to Councillors, staff, key stakeholders, and members of the public.
You will be expected to work flexibly, out of hours including evenings and weekends/bank holidays on a rota basis to meet the operational needs of the service.
