This is an excellent opportunity to join the Governance Team at Wyre Council working as the Council’s Insurance Officer.
You will be the Council’s point of contact for all insurance related matters and will work independently, with the support of the Audit and Risk Manager to ensure the Council’s insurance portfolio is suitably protected. On a day-to-day basis you will manage, investigate and report on all insurance claims received which will involve liaising with members of staff, the Council’s insurers and their solicitors/barristers and also members of the public. Part of your role will also be to administer the renewal of the Council’s insurance portfolio, including public and employer’s liability, motor, property and a number of other policies that protect the council’s interests and officers.
The successful applicant will have previously worked in an insurance environment and have a good understanding of administrating and investigating insurance claims. You will be an enthusiastic, reliable, self-motivated individual, who is able to work independently with excellent communication skills. The role will involve working out in the Borough of Wyre, therefore the successful applicant must have a full driving license and regular access to their own vehicle.
