Maintaining a clean and green borough is a key priority for the Council and this post will assist in the management of the day to day operations of the street cleansing. Working from coast to countryside across the borough, serving a population of over 109,000 people, boosted annually by several million visitors, the successful candidate will have the drive and ambition to deliver quality services and help develop Streetscene service priorities.
Working with the Public Realm Manager, you will take day to day operational control of the street cleansing team and provide support to the grounds maintenance operations focusing on delivering services at key points and events, meeting the needs of the community and visitors. You will be responsible for ensuring operational staffing levels are maintained in line with budget and that all teams have sufficient levels of staff to provide a high standard and safe service provision while ensuring safe working procedures are followed at all times.
You will be involved in all aspects of people management including recruitment, performance and attendance management and any conduct issues as they arise.
Applicants must have experience in working in a similar operational role, have experience of supervising teams and must have excellent people management skills. A recognised management qualification would be advantageous and applicants will have undertaken IOSH Working Safely training.
