The position would suit an individual with a science background offering an opportunity to work in a small but busy Environmental Health Team. There is potential in 12 months’ time for the successful candidate to be offered the chance to train as an Environmental Health Officer fully funded by the Council, working 4 days a week at the authority and attending Leeds Beckett University 1 day a week over a 4 year period to complete a Bsc Hons degree. This will be subject to the Environmental Health apprenticeship scheme being available in September 2021.

The post holder will be reporting to the Environmental Protection & Community Safety Manager, you will gain experience within a busy Local Authority Environmental Health team carrying out a wide range of general Environmental Health & Community Safety duties.

The position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
